Oats are widely accepted as nutritional powerhouses for dietary fiber and protein. Oats contain a special type of fiber that is especially good for the reduction of cholesterol called beta-glucan.

Preparation ideas:
Soaking method:
Overnight oats are just oats soaked overnight that absorb the liquid you put them in –
any kind of liquid you like! (warm water, milk , soymilk, almond milk etc)
The most common mixture is equal parts raw rolled oats, milk and yogurt (eg 1/3 or 1/2 cup of each).
You can use any kind of yogurt or milk.
you can choose to freeze or not to freeze it
Cooking method :
Cook time: Approximately 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup rolled oats (not instant or quick oats)
- 1/3 cup milk (or your favorite non-dairy alternative, eg unsweetened Almond milk)
- 1/3 cup water
Directions:
- Combine oats, milk and water in a medium pan. Turn the stove on medium to medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until oatmeal reaches desired thickness.
- Spoon oatmeal into a bowl and add toppings
Optional: You may wish to sweeten your oats with brown sugar (or any sweeteners like Agave, maple syrup, honey etc ) and/ or sprinkle with cinnamon, flaxmeal, fruits, dried fruits and nuts etc
