Product introduction
Ideal chromatic aberration correction with more lenses.
Under this theme, UD (Ultra Low Dispersion) lenses were developed.
Canon's first image stabilizer IS (Image Stabilizer) for single lens reflex cameras installed in the world.
It is effective in the scene which is likely to cause camera shake, such as hand-held photography of a telephoto lens.

Features
EF-S55-250mm F4-5.6 The optical design of IS is adopted as it is with a design that improved the sense of quality.
IMAGE STABILIZER which covers the telephoto range equivalent to 88 mm to 400 mm in terms of 35 mm format and has a camera shake compensation effect up to approximately 4 stages in terms of shutter speed.
It is a lightweight and compact telephoto zoom lens that can be used safely even in night view scenes, telephoto snaps and even indoors where the amount of light is insufficient.
The lens automatically determines the normal shooting and panning shots, performs appropriate camera shake correction, and does not miss a momentary shutter opportunity.
UD lens
Ideal chromatic aberration correction with more lenses.
Under this theme, UD (Ultra Low Dispersion) lenses were developed.
It is highly effective in eliminating secondary spectra, has optical properties with low refraction and low dispersion characteristics, and anomalous dispersion characteristics like fluorite, and it has performance comparable to 1 fluorite in 2 sheets.
