How do I keep a playpen safe and fun?

When setting up a playpen, think carefully about where you put it. Playpens should be kept away from
windows, open fires, heaters and radiators.

Keep a few favourite toys or books in the playpen so that your child associates it with some of her best-loved things. You could even transform the pen into a ball pool by putting a layer of large plastic balls over the base.

However, be careful not to put anything in your playpen that your baby could use to lever herself out. Babies can be amazing escape artists!
