Our nests are specially selected from the equatorial city of Pontianak in West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Preparing Bird Nest

There are 2 types of bird nest: Cave and House. Knowing which bird nest you are buying is crucial as stewing / double boil time varies widely. Prolonged boiling will cause bird nest to dissolve in water.

Cave bird nest which are usually yellowish in colour can be stewed for long hours. House bird nest are whiter, contains less impurities and taste smoother; cannot be stewed for long hours.

Opulence Bird Nest are house bird nest and we recommend 15 mins soaking with hot water, change to a fresh hot water and soak another 120 mins. Double boil for maximum 45 mins after that with your ingredients or just with rock sugar. 

Each box of Opulence Bird Nest comes with a recommended preparation. We will post some guides on bird nest regularly.
