Principle
This product is a high-technology product with integration of control theory and control technique along with application of computer. Based on human centered principle, we applied multi area knowledge such as human intelligence, industrial design, creative design, psychology, and body mechanics during the design and production of this product. A micro computer is the central control system, which applied three dimensional dynamics, inverted pendulum control principle, neural network method, and Kalman filter algorithm.
How it works
The left and right wheel driving torque input is zero when nobody standing on the vehicle platform. The gravity sensor outputs signal when somebody standing on the vehicle platform, the CPU will adjust the left and right wheel driving torque to maintain the vehicle body balance.
Driver tilts forward when need to go forward, the sensor inputs signal to CPU, the CPU will calculate the required torque synthesize the vehicle body status, control the wheel rotate forward and keep the vehicle body always in balance. Speed becomes faster as forward angle increases.
When driver’s inclination reaches a certain value, accelerate stops, the vehicle forwards at the set maximum speed. Driver tilts backward when need to slow down, brake or back, the CPU can also calculate the required anti-torque according to each sensor signal, control vehicle slow down, brake or backward.
When need to turn, drivers turn the handle bar left or right, the Steering rod will output a signal, the CPU will consider all signals including other sensors sending to calculate the different torque that left and right wheels required, utilize the left and right speed difference to control vehicle body rotate to the desired angle. The vehicle can always maintain a balance and stable state while forward, backward, brake or turning.

It will be better to ride EXPS Rider on flat surface and you may use EXPS Rider during raining day as the transport is water-proof. However, we do not encourage user to ride EXPS Rider during raining day as the wet surface might increase the chances of falling down.
Is there a restriction on weight to ride?
We recommend a minimal weight of 20kg and maximum weight of 100kg while riding EXPS Rider.
Is there minimum height requirement to ride?
We recommend for user above 1.4m. Handle is adjustable from 101cm till 137cm.
How long can it run after fully charged?
EXPS Rider can run up to 20km to 30km after one round of fully charged (about 4 hours),
How do I clean EXPS Rider?
You may use slightly wet clothes to wipe the transport.
What other details I should notice before riding EXPS Rider?
1. Understand and comply with local traffic regulations.
2. Wear protective gears, eg: helmet, knee pads or elbow pads.
3. Check on charging power conditions, avoid to ride when charging power is below 60% for long-distance riding.
4. Ensure EXPS Rider is in good condition before start riding, eg: any loose part or damage of vehicle, abnormal noise while riding or continuous alarm situation.
5. Ensure user are in good condition while driving, do not drink and drive.
6. Be careful while riding across uneven surfaces, eg: pits, cracks, steep slopes (greater than 20°), paddles with more than 6cm deep
7. We do not encourage people with heart disease or disability, pregnant women or more than 1 persons to ride the transport. Children aged below 14 years should be supervised by parent while riding EXPS Rider.
