Modern telecommunications are dominated by cellular applications?? both at home and in the workplace. And with more and more users opting to drop land lines altogether a majority of users now consider their cell phone/smart phone as their essential voice and/or data connection tool. Yet recent surveys indicate up to 65% of cell phone owners experience problems with their service?? including dropped calls?? poor signal reception or dead zones. This loss of coverage can be due to realities such as environmental obstructions?? building materials?? metal roofs?? high-speed data (reduces coverage) and network interference - but this all can be turned around with the zBoost DataBlast Kit
Choose a location for the signal antenna using your cell phone to determine the area of strongest signal. Generally this will be on the inside of a window?? outside the window?? or for best results?? on the roof or in your attic. Remember that the coverage your zBoost provides is largely determined by the quality of signal received by the signal antenna?? so if your best signal is one bar?? your coverage will be limited to one small room. The antenna should be at least 3 feet above any metal to minimize incidental signal loss. Also keep in mind that?? for optimum performance?? the signal antenna must be placed at least 15 vertical feet above the zBoost base unit.
Place the base unit where you need increased signal strength?? and where the path of the provided coaxial cable can conveniently reach it. For the widest possible signal area?? it is recommended that you position the base unit near the middle of a room or mount it on an interior wall. The base unit uses an omni-directional antenna that delivers signal in a circular pattern around the antenna.
Use the provided 50-feet of RG-59(mini) coaxial cable to connect the signal antenna and the base unit. Additional cable can be used?? but cable longer than 75 feet is not recommended.

Connect the zBoost base unit to the provided power supply and plug into a power outlet. If the signal strength has improved?? your zBoost is working. Remember?? coverage varies based on outdoor signal level?? building construction?? and antenna placement. Coverage in adjoining rooms will be reduced by walls and building materials.
