ABOUT THE COFFEE BEANS USED

We source this varietal directly from coffee estates located in the Santos region of southern Brazil. These estates carefully cultivate smaller quantities of the bourdon variety of Arabica coffee beans. The best coffees come from the young trees whose small, rounded beans produce excellent cup quantities, fine acidity and natural sweetness. The result is a smooth, well-balanced and mellow-bodied brew.

 

Brazillian beans are popular for blending because their mildness and neutral flavour forms the ideal basis of a solid blend. 

 

On average, Brazil produces one-third of total world coffee yield. Much of this coffee is bland as a result of low topography and outdated methods, but certain regions, such as the mountainous Santos region, produce varietal coffees with exceptional individual character and taste profile.
