The magnetic lid secures the grinding operation with the second chamber， and as the grinding take place the finer particles move through bored holes into the third chamber. This is where the fine mesh is held for the finest particles to roll through and landing into fourth container / storage housing.
It grinds your herbs between the top two layers and then， as the grind becomes nice and fine， it passes through the filter and into the neat little catching compartment below.
The compartment underneath has a fine mesh filter (with a specific right micron value， so only the right stuff gets through) which allows your dust to strain through into the lowest layer， where it collects
