Unlike tightly woven fabrics, the felting process randomly interlocks the fibers and compresses them into firm, 1/8-inch thick fabric strips. Much like a cotton ball, large spaces between the fibers allow moisture to pass down into crevices where it is channeled away from your feet as
you walk. So feet feel dry- even in closed shoes and with pantyhose.
