My 4-year-old daughter hasn't had much exposure to tools and we're in the process of a building project, so she's been enjoying it, but I think it's really more appropriate for 2-to-3-year olds. This portable toy has come with us this summer to big brother's baseball games and to parks. It's easy to carry and the tools stay tucked inside well. In public my daughter enjoys playing even without the volume, but the music is fun and the instructions are easy to follow. I like that it organically introduces the concepts of color and using different tools for different tasks. The game also introduces the idea of "righty tighty and lefty loosey" which is fun. The only design flaw in my opinion is the ruler. I find it very strange that it has 0 as a measurement that's a unit in. When the toy counts, it doesn't count "0", so I think some kids might get confused by this.Written by a customer while visiting leapfrog.comWas this review helpful?Yes (0)No (0)ReportTalking and Singing Toolbox9/1/2015Average rating:4out of5stars, based onreviews9/1/2015by MomandMoreThis is a fun LeapFrog toy that is perfect for curious little builders. It is a toolbox with toolbox that allows kids to take apart and re-build a toolbox. Kids practice with the five included plastic tools and learn how the tools work and which tool works best for each problem. Great for problem solving skills. The set is very colorful and kids need to match the right colored tool for each job. My boys also wanted to do whatever their daddy was doing and now with this set they can bring their own toolbox around the house to wherever dad is working. The toolbox also talks, sings and asks questions. It uses Scout's very cute puppy voice. Cute toy for any little builder ages 2-5 years old. I will say though kids might get a little bored with it since there is only so much they can "fix" but the tools can be used around the house as pretend and it is still a cute toolbox to carry around. I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.Written by a customer while visiting leapfrog.comWas this review helpful?Yes (0)No (0)ReportScouts Tool Box is Perfect for Little Builders10/20/2015Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews10/20/2015by theNightowlmama*product provided for the purpose of this review I'm a mom of 4 children and 1 grandchild. My grandson was ready for his first tool box and Scouts building tool box is perfect for that. It plays songs by a simple push of the logo with scout on the front of the box. The box is very colorful and so creative. Comes with 4 tools: Hammer, wrench, screwdriver, and ruler. Each piece fits perfectly in little hands. Three sides of the box come down to reveal a little puppy bed and a make believe wooden floor. The different colored screws are different shapes some with paw prints on them and some that fit the screw driver for turning and fit the wrench to turn too. We love that scout not only sings counting sounds but talks about tools too. He also barks. My grandson giggles every time he hears the barking. I love that it makes his smile.Written by a customer while visiting leapfrog.comWas this review helpful?Yes (0)No (0)ReportAge Appropriate8/28/2015Average rating:4out of5stars, based onreviews8/28/2015by fmomof4b
