This is well built, fits the majority of pans as it spins itself into all places. It's good for soups ("heat gently, stirring continuously"), custard mixes (stops them getting lumpy), and even for boiling pasta (to stop it sticking to the bottom of the pan). One word of warning it will not cope with 5lb of thick cheese sauce, but for light sauces and gravy's it is perfect.
