Prized for its highest anti-bacterial activity among honeys. Manuka Honey has been used for centuries, good for ailments including wounds, ulcers of the skin, leg and stomach, cold sores, sore throats, toothache, gum diseases, diarrhoea, eye infections, hemorrhoids, stomach health and others.

The anti-bacterial activity of most honeys is unstable, as it comes from hydrogen peroxide, produced by an enzyme. This activity is reduced if the enzyme is exposed to heat, oxygen and light and other environmental factors. Our body also produces enymes to destroy the hydrogen peroxide, produced by an enzyme. Results recently published in the New Zealand Medical Journal also showed that Manuka honey successfully treated unresponsive skin ulcers and helped heal wounds where other honeys failed.
