- If you want to use these straps for tying down your motorcycle see the 7th picture for an easy guide (although the guide uses cam straps instead of ratchet; the process is the same)These are the basic steps:
1. Try to get a buddy to steady the bike while you walk it onto a trailer/pickup bed; it is a hard job to do alone.
2. Don''t sit on the bike while loading
3. For the front, choose tie-down anchor points that will pull the straps forward, not backward.
4. Hook one vinyl-coated S hook into an anchor point on the vehicle, twist the strap webbing, and loop the other S hook into a soft loop or over a solid bike part such as the fork tubes, never anchor to aluminum parts or the handlebars.
6. Ratchet to close.

The total safe working load limit is determined by ADDING together:
≫ half of the working load limit of each tie-down that goes from an anchor point on the vehicle to an anchor point on an article of cargo;
≫ the working load limit of each tie-down that is attached to an anchor point on the vehicle, passes through, over, or around the article of cargo, and is then attached to an anchor point on the same side of the vehicle;

≫ the working load limit of each tie-down that goes from an anchor point on the vehicle, through, over, or around the article of cargo, and then attaches to another anchor point on the other side of the vehicle
