Q Why krill oil?
A Krill oil contains 40% phospholipids. Phospholipids are building blocks for cell membranes and regulate cellular transport by functioning as “gate-keeper”. The most predominant phospholipid in Krill oil is phosphatidylcholine (PC), which is partially composed of choline. Choline is important for healthy development.
Krill oil’s omega-3 like EPA and DHA are bound to phospholipids giving you optimum omega-3 absorption. Phospholipid omega-3s are significantly more bioavailable than fish oil omega-3s because it allows the direct entrance of EPA and DHA into the cells. Both EPA and DHA are important for healthy cell development and body functions. Regular omega-3 intake can reduce the risk of diseases.
Q Why is krill oil red in colour?
A Krill oil contains natural antioxidant Astaxanthin, a red carotenoid, which gives it a red colour.
Q Is krill oil safe for consumption?
A Krill are at the bottom of the food chain and feed on planktons. Krill are harvested from the pristine waters of Antarctica; free from pollution of heavy metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins and pesticides. This makes krill oil safe for long term consumption following the recommended dosage.
