High Power DC Geared Motor (380RPM)
SPG30HP (High Power) is a compact yet powerful DC brushed motor with gear head, a low cost solution for projects such as medium size robot, omni drive robot, sumo robot, fighting robot, or any mechanism, etc.
We have been carrying for quite sometime and it has serve the makers community well. It is being used in student final year projects, and competition robot. This model of SPG30 brushed motor comes with 30:1 gearbox attached. The gearbox output shaft is a D-shaped with 15.5mm long and 6mm in diameter.
All SPG30 motors are DC brushed motor with gearbox. The rated voltage is 12V (except stated), yet we have tried to drive this motor from 9V to 15V. Lower voltage might not have enough torque to drive the wheel or mechanism; higher voltage will provide higher torque and higher speed, but it will shorten the life of the motor.
For Arduino lover, you might want to check out the to control this motor with Arduino main board.
Mounting
For mounting, the depth of the thread of the motor is 3.2 mm. So, you need to use 3.2 mm length of M3 size screw (not include the thickness of the bracket). Longer screw will damage the gear box. You may need to consider the thickness of the bracket or other mechanism that you need to attach to the motor for choosing the right length of screw.
