It has a large start/lap button on the face which is easy to use with sweaty hands. It took a little practice to get all the features mastered, but the user interface is simple and logical. The only drawback is that it can only keep 30 laps in memory which can be a factor on endurance training days where I occasionally surpass 8 miles and split in quarter mile times. I like everything about this watch. The band and buckle are excellent and it can hold three time zones (which I really like). The night mode feature is awesome and the flix feature is very sweet.
