Place your finger over the SOLAR cell and press the number pad, if the displayed number is weak or does not show, it means that the internal battery is flat. Simply open up the calculator to replace the battery inside, the likely chance is a LR1130 battery within the casing, simply replace the battery. You can now use the calculator in low light area. SOLAR cell on the calculator is only a backup cell but does not help much if the internal battery is weak or flat.
