When ice cream or gelato is frozen hard and difficult to scoop, just hold the ice cream scoop in your hand for a little while before scooping. This will transfer heat from your hands down to the scoop making it easier to slice through the ice cream or gelato. The zinc alloy transfers heat very efficiently giving it an anti-freeze property.
