I found this shampoo in a local pharmacy and have been using it ever since. When i found this product on Walmart for cheaper than the pharmacy, I was thrilled. After reading many reviews, I went to Walmart to try this shampoo. My head has finally stopped itching even the next morning after my shampoo. I am a salon type shampoo and treatments type of person for my hair only. Buy it.Was this review helpful?Yes (65)No (15)ReportRecommend Without Reservation6/29/2016Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews6/29/2016by BrianI stumbled upon this shampoo entirely by accident, after discovering that mixing salicylic acid with my regular shampoo only resulted in a mess (I didn't take chemistry in high school) and have used it regularly since. It makes an absolutely remarkable difference in the itchiness and flakiness of my skin, even though nothing else (tar, sulfur, ketoconazole, pyrithione zinc) has worked. I'll share a tip that will help you get a greater benefit from this. Salicylic acid is an oil-soluble acid, so you can just put this on your head, BUT, that means here is a lot more gunk that it has to eat through before getting to the problem; as a result, there's less acid reaching the problem. If you wash your hair first with something like an anti-acne face wash (like neutrogena) or even just regular bar soap and rinse really well, it'll remove a lot of the oil and dirt from your scalp and/or skin so that this shampoo will work better. If you don't want to buy another product, I'd suggest that you use this once, leave it on 3 minutes, rinse, and then give it another round... that way, you've washed away all of the dirt and grime and are giving the second round of the shampoo a real solid connection with your skin so that it can fix your problem.Was this review helpful?Yes (44)No (7)ReportRead all reviews
