A 2.8-inch 461,000-dot vari-angle capacitive type touch LCD monitor which can be tilted up 180° offers you extra convenience for selfie and a high level of framing flexibility to explore more distinctive angles for the best result. In addition, the monitor supports Touch AF, Touch Shutter, function selection and setting adjustment with a touch on the monitor. Multi touch capabilities such as "pinch-to-zoom" and "swiping" to scroll between images during image playback are also supported, allowing users to enjoy photography with easy and direct touch operation.

Adopting a new selfie concept, PowerShot N2 offers a new Self Portrait mode with smooth skin and background defocus functions to deliver beautiful and stunning selfie right from the camera! When the LCD monitor is tilted up 180°, shortcut icons to various functions of Self Portrait mode will be displayed automatically on the monitor for easy one-touch access. By adjusting Brightness on a scale from 1 to 5, and setting smooth skin level to weak, medium or strong, optimal and natural looking image can be achieved in every occasion. With also a background defocus function to make the subject stand out from a blurred background, more impressive portrait result can be assured.

Inheriting the high quality camera specifications of PowerShot series, PowerShot N2 takes selfie to the next level. Featuring HS SYSTEM which integrates the DIGIC 6 digital image processor’s ultra-fast data processing speed and 16.1-megapixel high sensitivity CMOS image sensor’s light-gathering capability to dramatically improve the signal-to-noise ratio, the camera can achieve excellent image quality with virtually no noise. Improved high ISO shooting performance can be expected, facilitating easy selfie with a handheld camera in dim or indoor environment for sharp and stunning images. PowerShot N2 also features a 28mm wide-angle 8x optical zoom lens for easy creation of the ideal composition by changing the focal length, allowing for more versatile imaging expression. For movie shooting, a short movie file¹ of about 3 to 6 seconds will be taken with automatic addition of fun effects such as fast / slow motion, color filters, peripheral illumination adjustment and slow shutter. 4 movie files will be joined together automatically to help you capture everyday stories. PowerShot N2 features a built-in Wi-Fi Wireless Transfer function²for easy and instant image sharing, printing and backup. A Mobile Device Connect button provides added convenience by simplifying wireless sharing process with a one-touch connection to the pre-set smart phones. With a Wi-Fi network, high quality images and movies captured can be uploaded directly to social networking sites such as Facebook or YouTube, sent wirelessly to smart phones, tablets or to other Canon digital cameras³ for easy sharing or backup. Images can also be printed directly through wireless connection with printers that support PictBridge (Wireless LAN) technology. In addition, the camera supports NFC (Near Field Communication) for direct image transfer to Android phones or tablets⁴. Simply touch your Android device with NFC function turned on to the NFC icon on the camera body, the CameraWindow application on your device will be launched automatically with connection completed.

Wi-Fi Remote Shooting function⁵ via smart devices is also supported, allowing users to realize more creative images through remote shooting from high or low angle flexibly. Upon connection, users can enjoy live view on the smart device, control zooming, flash operation, take and review photos. With the GPS function from smart devices⁶, accurate GPS data reception can be guaranteed after turning on the CameraWindow application on the smart device. Connect the camera to the smart device after shooting, GPS data including shooting location and time will be transferred and combined with the images, allowing easy image review or creation of travel blog.
