Features: - Watch out for excessive CO2 - The use of Drop (for)checker is recommended as it makes it easy to figure out the CO2 level in an anqurium - Beat use in anqurium
Instructions: Turn drop (for)checker up-side-down and place 3 drops of test solution into the drop (for)checker. Use a pipette (not include) to inject tank water into the drop (for)checker. You will see the color change on the solution according to Co2 content in the tank water. Turn drop (for)checker up-side-down again carefully, and place the drop (for)checker inside the tank below water level.
Suction Cup for Drop (for)checker
A drop (for)checker is essentially a pH test, but not for your aquarium water. It measures the pH of the solution in the drop (for)checker itself, which in-turn indicates CO2 levels. There is a trapped chamber of air which sits between the aquarium water and the drop (for)checker solution. The CO2 in your aquarium will diffuse into the trapped air, and it will do this until the aquarium water and solution in the drop (for)checker reach equilibrium. This means that there is equal concentrations of CO2 in both the aquarium water and drop (for)checker solution, and the CO2 is the only variable effecting the pH in the drop (for)checker. The pH of the drop (for)checker solution therefore is the same as that of the aquarium water, which changes colour to indicate the pH. Ideally your drop (for)checker should be a deep green colour, a blue colour indicates too little CO2, and yellow indicates too much CO2. You can then adjust your dosing (in small changes) until the desired level of dosing is obtained for your aquarium.
