For those who are not familiar with the wonderful nature of raw cacao: Ancient Mayan and Aztecs believed that Cacao (pronounced KA-COW) was a gift from the gods as a divine food with medicinal and aphrodisiacal properties. The scientific name Theobroma cacao literally means "food of the gods" in Greek. Cacao is not merely a food that makes us feel happy (think bliss nutrients!), it has phenomenal amount of antioxidants and minerals that can keep us healthy too. And the healthiest form of Cacao with superfood level of nutrients is Raw Cacao. Raw Cacao refers to the raw form of chocolate/cocoa which is not processed in any way or is minimally processed, unsweetened, and is made from unroasted cacao beans. Raw cacao products (made from unroasted cacao beans) retains much more of its natural nutrients and antioxidants compared to traditional regular cocoa which has been roasted.

A great snack or a wonderful accompaniment to any recipe. We do not recommend baking with raw cacao nibs as high heat exposure will affect the antioxidant levels.
Recommended serviing: 2-3 teaspoons a day. You do not need to eat raw cacao nibs every day in order to benefit from them.
Store product in cool, dry, dark place. Refrigeration is not necessary.

Made from unroasted, lightly fermented cacao beans. The low fermentation process brings out the cacao flovour, increases nutrient availability and reduces phytic acid content.
Raw Cacao has high level of antioxidants (oligomeric procynanidins, resveratrol and the polyphenols:catechin and epicatechin) as well asphenethylamine (PEA, the fee-good neurotransmitter responsible for the feeling of love), tryptophan (mood-enhancer and a commonly deficient amino acid in those who consume a diet of mostly cooked food) and serotonin (a neurotransmitter that acts as a"stress defense shield" or an anti-depressant). It is also rich in magnesium, sulfur, good fats, minerals and vitamins.
Yacon Root Syrup, a pre-biotic superfood, is made from 100% organic yacon roots. Yacon syrup's sweetness comes from a high concentration of inulin, a complex sugar that breaks down slowly into fructooligosaccharides (FOS) which is not metabolized by the body but do the job of promoting a good balance of intestinal flora. Yacon Root Syrup also boasts a good amount of minerals such as potassium, calcium, phosphorous and iron, as well as 20 amino acids. Antioxidants (scavengers of free radicals) like tryptophan, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, protocatechuic and ferulic acids are also found in Yacon roots. Very low in Glycemic Index (GI) < 1. A good dietetic and diabetic food.
