They taped and padded areas around the clock to protect it in shipping. Its a good size too, at least 3 foot maybe from one point to the other. The colors were just what they showed in the picture. Its 3 dimensional - exactly what I wanted. Not a picture that looked 3-d. Clock worked fine when we put a battery in it. Good product, good buy.
