Made by women in the communities near Tehuacan Puebla, Mexico. Style is traditional and very simple. The embroidery is all hand-made and the designs are all typical of this region. Some of the figures in the designs are inspired from the art work on historic buildings. The process to create the dress may take a few months. It is usually cut and designed by a family or cooperative, and then is sent to women in communities across the region for embroidering. The critical measurement is the chest just below the under arm.
