Surgical stainless steel is the grade used for making surgical instruments because it has the highest level of corrosion protection. Ordinary canning jar rings are steel – when you use them for sprouting, they quickly rust, taint your sprouts and stain your sprouting screens. That doesn’t happen with stainless steel lids.
Plastic lids can be hard to screw on, may not last long and could contaminate your sprouts with BPA or other plasticizers. These PURE STAINLESS STEEL lids are DURABLE and SCREW ON EASILY. They are DISHWASHER SAFE and can be sterilized in boiling water.
Some sprouting screens have a metal band around the edge that can trap food particles. Lotus & Sky screens are band-free for EASY CLEANING and FOOD SAFETY. The rings and screens separate easily for quick cleaning. Brush or rinse them off, pop them into the dishwasher and you’re done!
