PowerLine uses a larger gauge of wire in our power connections and cable to reduce voltage loss due to resistance in small gauge cables. The larger gauge wire enhances the speed at which the charging process occurs. The PowerLine 6 foot MFi Cable is a charge/sync cable. A charge only cable will cause confusion and returns because people don't understand that it won't sync until they try to sync. A non licensed connector causes concern for quality issues as all licensed connectors are bought via Apple from one of two suppliers and are current with any changes Apple is making to their connectors. Apple is known to make tweaks that have caused unlicensed product(s) to not work with new Apple generation devices. Many manufacturers use Apple related terminology attempting to link their products to iPads/iPhones/iPods without going through the extensive Apple certification process and paying fees for the use of the MFi badge. If they are not displaying the MFi logo or the Apple brand it is for a reason. Because the PowerLine products are certified by Apple the MFi badge and Apple trademarks may be used in any advertising for the two products.
