The brand name "Calw" means bear in Finnish.
Calw, who started as a small workshop for processing wood, had manufactured ski boards and spears of athletics at the time, but then began developing the running spikes.
It was also selected as an official supplier of Finnish Olympic athletes, and at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics the Finnish national team wearing a calf is doing great success.
After that the top athletes got together wearing the calf and attracted worldwide attention.
