Despite weighing just 15.8 ounces per pair, Komperdell Contour Titanal II trekking poles provide excellent versatility, stability, and durability. These aluminum, two-section poles also feature easy-to-use external locking mechanisms. The poles feature Komperdell''s Expedition XXL foam grips. These soft, texturedd grips serve as ergonomic handholds and integrated, adjustable straps reduce strain on your wrists. Several inches below the standard grips, the upper pole sections have a patented G''reptile grip zone, allowing the pole to be held lower on the shaft, thus eliminating the need to shorten the pole every time you encounter a steep slope. The external locks found on the poles are far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used on many telescoping poles. Simply push open the locking tab, adjust the poles to your preferred length (33.5''-55.1'') and snap the tab back into place. The poles can be converted for winter use by replacing the standard touring baskets (included) with one of the several styles of snow baskets (sold separately). Tungsten/carbide flex tips are designed to flex if the tip of the pole should get stuck, helping to protect the shafts from structural damage.
