DERMATIX® ULTRA FAQs:

  1. How is Dermatix® Ultra different from other scar treatment products?

Dermatix® Ultra is proven effective to lighten, soften and flatten scars. It has the most advanced formulation containing CPX technology and Vitamin C. This makes it feel soft and light on the skin. it does not have to be masssaged, is quick-drying and cosmetics can be applied over it.

  1. How does Dermatix® Ultra work?

Dermatix® Ultra helps by hydrating the sensitive skin of the scar and forms a barrier against chemical, physical or microbial invasion of the scar site. This allows better organization of the collagen and improves the appearance of the scar. Abnormal scars develop because collagen deposition is more random during the healing stages.

  1. What are the benefits of Vitamin C?

Vitamin C protects the skin from UVA and UVB and lightens hyper-pigmentation. Our Vitamin C is a new active lipid form of Pro Vitamin C, ensuring greater stability and penetration of the skin. It has a non-irritating neutral pH.

  1. On what types of scars is Dermatix® Ultra effective?

Dermatix® Ultra works best on elevated scars (hypertrophic and keloid) not older than 2 years. It is not indicated for the treatment of depressed scars, such as those resulting from acne or chickenpox.

  1. When can Dermatix® Ultra treatment be started after surgery or injury?

Treatment with Dermatix® Ultra can be started once the stitches have been removed or the wound has closed. It should not be applied when the wound is still open.

  1. How does Dermatix® Ultra lighten scars?

Dermatix® Ultra acts as a barrier to bacteria. It is the body's reaction to bacteria that causes the darkness / redness as it sends more white blood cells to the damaged site. When bacteria no longer penetrate the affected site, the extra white blood cells re no longer needed and the color returns to normal. The Vitamin C ester helps in lightening the scar as well.
