Basic version to save some money

When to pick the Advanced version over the Basic version? When u stay below 7th storey and your place is surrounded by buildings or your TV is surrounded by funiture. 

Manage to get signal for my friend staying at Punggol Drive. Although reception should only be optimal then(months ago), by hanging the antenna at the balcony, we still manage to get reception.
