The device will not response if you're pressing the control buttons
"hard and long".
Pressing the control buttons, requires only gentle press and release,
all done within 1 second.
It is not about how long and hard you press, you should just press
and let go,  within approx 1 second. 
The sensor is very sensitive.
Please be patient and practice until you are familiar with the usage.
