Built from three sheets of plywood and standard pine lumber (as pictured; other species will work), the traditional design features a trundle bed that rolls out of sight underneath the main unit. During the day the project makes a comfortable and attractive sofa. Once the sun goes down, simply roll out the trundle to create two extra beds. Far more comfortable and affordable (not to mention attractive) than a traditional pull-out sofabed, the project is designed around standard twin-size mattresses. Simple construction and full-size patterns for the curves make it simple enough for most woodworkers. The completed day bed measures 88 inches long by 44 inches deep by 34 inches tall.
