What is TSA lock?
TSA lock is a special lock approved by the American Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
It is written with TSA and small in the keyhole next to the red diamond mark.
Why TSA lock required?
Long after the terrorist incident on 11th September 2001, the baggage inspection at the airport in the USA became extremely strict.
Passengers are required to unlock and deposit their luggage as TSA (the United States Transportation Security Bureau) is supposed to check the checked baggage when traveling or leaving Japan.
However, TSA LOCK loaded bags can be unlocked by TSA officials using special tools.
You can deposit it while locking it.
If a key that is not "TSA lock" is locked, you will need to break the key or destroy the suitcase and perform the inspection.
It is an indispensable lock for people traveling to the United States (including US territories such as Hawaii and Guam) like this.
