I chose it out of a desire to obtain a set that has that real stoneware feel, and that "for everyday use" feel. This set does not disappoint; it has actually exceeded my expectations. The set is just lovely, while displaying an understated, elegance in presentation; it also aids in creating a sense of serenity and calm. I searched several places looking for everyday dinnerware and found these to be an excellent price and quality. I was pleasantly surprised. First off, I saw reviews that said that the colors didn't match when ordering 2 sets. I ordered 3 sets and they all matched. I also read a few reviews that said that some of the dishes arrived broken. I also read the response and saw that I could bring it back to any Walmart store and they would take care of it. I received all 3 sets today and not one dish was broken. I frankly cannot see how they could be. they were packaged so well. These dishes are heavy and sturdy, look exactly like the picture, very nice. The reason I gave this set only 4 stars instead of 5 was because the bowls are very large. not deep but wide... They are not light and feel solid unlike other ones that feel almost hollow and bulky. The bowls are nice a big and the coffee mugs are a nice size to.
