NVIDIA's Scalable Link Interface uses a separate connector opposite the PCI Express interface to pass information between the cards so they operate in sync.
Built for the system-building enthusiast, the top of the bridge features an attractive red ROG brand, which can be lit up when connected to compatible graphics cards, or when attached to power using the included cable (see the ASUS ROG website for and up-to-date compatibility list). Further adding to the appearance is the brushed-aluminum finish which complements the illuminated logo and provides a premium aesthetic that can be seen through tower case windows.
The 3-Way bridge can be used with three cards spaced closely together or with two cards positioned further apart such that a 2-way bridge is insufficient. SLI requires identical graphics cards and an SLI compatible motherboard in order to operate. Consult your current product's manufacturer literature to ensure that your setup will be compatible with SLI.
