The below diagram shows the filter that was used for 6 months in Singapore compared to a new filter.

The accumulation of the contaminants is about 5mm in thickness in the filter. You can observed that the used cartridge on the right hand side is darker. Thi is because the contaminants have pushed the blocking filtration particles closer together. Therefore, you will experience a slower flow rate of water when the filter cartridge has blocked more contaminants. You can also observe the top of both filter cartridge. Both are white and it shows that no contaminants have passed through. Therefore, the system works in purifying your water supply.
