I haven't tried them in the microwave yet. I was a little disappointed that one of the dishes got broken in the dishwasher. I'm sure it was when I was loading the dishwasher. Overall, I am pleased however this type of material is very fragile and does chip easily.I also purchased the mixing bowl with a spout. I love!! a bowl with a spot. I had them shipped to my granddaughter in Iowa. She did not receive them and had watched all day the day the tracking said they should be delivered. Tracking said they had been delivered. So I chatted with a Walmart rep. and he got a replacement order out right away! So nice. It is too late to return them now since they were purchased in November, but the issue began in December. The smaller plates look cool, but are harder to clean due to the design with in the plate. The bowls are smaller than I wanted, plus the cute shape makes it a little harder to place them in the dishwasher. I've looked everywhere and can't find any site that lists how many ounces any of their bowls hold.
