This tea truly is a premium grade Orange Pekoe (pronounced 'peck-oh')
And although you might associate Orange Pekoe tea with some of the lesser quality teas you can buy in a supermarket, this is an entirely different tea, as it is of much higher quality, with long and full stretched leaves that brew an exceptional cup of tea
Despite the name, Orange Pekoe tea has no oranges, orange flavors, or anything else to do with oranges in it. Instead, the term Orange Pekoe is used in the Western tea world to describe a certain grade of black tea
When brewed, the tea leaves expand into beautiful examples of a black tea leaf, and the liquor is a gorgeous auburn color with a very fragrant aroma
The flavor is truly complex with nuances of honey and the warm, mellow flavor of citrus tones underneath. This is a perfect example of a high quality, mountain grown Orange Pekoe that will change the way you look at black tea
