The socket contains 54 spring-biased hardened alloy steel rods. When placed over a fastener the center rods retract while the outer rods surround the fastener. As the fastener is turned the torque is transmitted through the outer rods to the walls of the socket. The 3/8"diameter delivers 100 ft. lbs. of torque and fits bolt heads up to 3/8" long. The 1.0" diameter can deliver more than 100 ft of torque.
