Zi Ya Puer Tea is a rare mutation teas produced in Yunnan Province,coloring or purple hues,this mutation did not plant a visual result,but of course affects the flavor of tea as a result.This purple color is due to anthocyanin pigmentation,did not touch the buds or young leaves that surround the buds, but sometimes this range may be wider violet and spread to the entire tree. Zi Ya Puerh literally means purple buds,is a wild puerh tea, it harvest from wild tea trees grown in over 2480 meters altitude high mountain area. The purple buds appear only on these variant tea trees in early spring time. Its dark purple colour signals that it is high in antioxidants called anthocyanins.The purple puerh tea is made according the raw puer production technology.The puer teas are much like fine wines, which become smoother and more balanced with age.
Zi Ya puerh tea leaves were picked from a new tea tree species discovered in 1985 by a group of experts from the Yunnan Tea Research Center. Until today, production of tea cakes using Zi Ya materials is still very limited due to the high cost. This cake is made by rare purple buds from ancient trees harvested in 2014.The genuine quality purple tea has mild, rich and sweet taste with no bitterness or astringency.
This purple tea is raw puer variety that has special taste, flavor, look and chemical composition. The raw material is picked from the rare tea trees with purple leaves and buds. The high price is also high due to tea rareness .Usually purple puer is sold in cakes shape. One cake weights 357 grams.
How to brew this puer tea:
1.Fill your teapot or other container to 1/4 or 1/5 of the capacity.
2.Soak the tea leaves in boiled water for up to 10 seconds. Then throw this brew away.
3.Infuse the tea leaves with freshly boiled water again for five seconds and pour this second brew into your teacup and then you can enjoy it.
4.For further infusions the brewing time depends on your own taste preference - the longer you brew the stronger the taste.
5.It can be brewed many times, up to 30 cups. Simply keep adding freshly boiled water, and experience a different taste sensation with each brew.
