Monoi is made from 100% pure coconut oil and fragrant Tahitian gardenia flowers, a small white flower of the family Rubiaceae. The flower has natural antiseptic properties and a powerful but beautiful aroma which when left to soak in the coconut oil, produces the wonderfully versatile Monoi. The effectiveness of Monoi has seen its' popularity grow in both Europe and the USA.

History:
The origins of Monoi date back to the Polynesian people of New Zealand (the Maori) some 2000 years ago. It was used for cosmetic purposes but was also employed in religious ceremonial practices. Babies also had Monoi applied to their delicate skin as protection against dehydration in the hot weather but also as a barrier from the cold. The same people used it on sea voyages to protect their skin from the effects of salt water, the cold and from the biting winds.
