I'm not sure what brands I've used in the past but many of them ripped easily when an edge or corner bumped them. This paper, although not entirely indestructible, is much more heavy duty. The weight difference is amazing when compared to an equal-sized piece from another roll/different brand. This paper was strong enough to not tear when wrapped around an edge, and it didn't 'mush' very easily once crinkled and placed in a package.
