The colors matched perfectly with the existing wall color. The fabric does have a sheen to it, and is thin but not in a cheap way. I would recommend a mattress pad under the fitted sheet. It has a small tare (from the dogs). We are very impressed with this set. The color is still bright and the colors are perfect for our bedroom. He has bunk beds, which we usually unbunk in the summer time. This bedding is very practical and very very budget friendly. It isn't the best/ high end quality but for a teenager it's great. I have washed it a couple of times and have had no issues. I added some mainstay pillows and curtains to add a lil splash to his room.
