XCell Antimicrobial dressings provide active fluid management, providing either absorption or hydration depending upon exudate levels as well as antimicrobial properties through the use of 0.3% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), a well-known, broad spectrum antimicrobial. Indicated for use on infected and non-infected wounds, XCell AM specifically reduces microbial bio burden and has been shown to be effective in reducing risk of infection by performing as a barrier. XCell has been found to be non-adherent to the wound surface and provides virtually pain-free dressing changes. Dressings form a protective barrier over the wound, mimicking the body's natural "blister" process for an optimal healing environment.
