The lichen, which grows naturally in the Arctic and has been traditionally used by the local people to clean and protect their teeth, contains active ingredients which attack harmful bacteria involved in the formation of plaque and tooth decay, and not the beneficial bacteria found naturally in the mouth. Used daily, BlanX effectively cleans and protects the teeth, and restores them to their original natural whiteness without abrading the enamel.
