It even take off massacre, other products I've tried did not work. My towels always had some makeup on them when drying my face after using other facial cleaners. Don't dry out your skin. They remained like this for hours and I am still waiting to see if there are long term effects. I have extremely sensitive/combination sebaceous hyperplasia prone skin and knew it would be an ordeal to find a cleanser that worked as good as my old cleanser. I actually tried/tested 13 CLEANSERS! before I discovered this one and all of them caused my skin to have a reaction (itching, irritation, breaking out). I was so happy and surprised this cleanser didn't cause those reactions. When I tried this one I was shocked at how soft it made my skin feel and at the same time it cleared up the breakouts I got from trying the other cleansers. In fact this cleanser does better on my skin than my old cleanser. I'm especially happy about the price compared to what I was paying for the other cleanser at the mall. I had acne when I was 10 and put on a rigorous wash routine which irritated my skin and caused inflammation. I began using this as simply a facial cleanser and it made my skin soft and supple. When I began to wear makeup, it took the makeup off with little to no effort (even liquid eyeliner!). I wear a full face of makeup every day and I use this in the morning before I put on my makeup and at night to take it off. I follow up by toning and moisturizing and my skin is magnificent afterwards. When I stopped using this (briefly) I relied on makeup wipes, which work but this makes me feel so clean and scrubbed! This is gentle, does not burn my eyes, and does not leave any residue.
