I used the outer side of the Shappy. My arms and legs are so wonderfully smooth now!I had been developing more and more exasperating white spots on my arms that I could dig off with my fingernails. They are gone now and never came back. I am in heaven. As for the original use of the Shappy, this file works better than any other file I have ever tried to make my heels soft and uncracked. The shape of the Shappy for both the heel and the handle are perfect.
