Murray of Atholl Ancient Tartan Lambswool Scarf. Wrap yourself up in warm, fuzzy, lambswool to keep warm on a cold day! Made from 100% lambswool tartan. Finished size of 12" x 58", with purled ends. SEPT AND RELATED NAMES include: Balneaves, Dinsmore, Dunsmore, Fleming, Moray, Murrie, Piper, Rattray, Smaill, Spalding. Descended from a Flemish nobleman, the clan was granted lands in Moray, in the north of Scotland. They became firmly identified with the cause of Scotland's freedom, with the clan chief Sir Andrew Murray fighting a the side of William Wallace at the battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, while Sir George Murray was Lieutenant General of Bonnie Prince Charlie's Jacobite army during the 1745 Rising.
