Health Benefits:

Moringa Leaf Powder is an excellent natural multivitamin supplement while maintaining a healthy dietary intake of whole foods, fruits and vegetables.

1.Energizes our Bodies

Moringa helps nourish and energize our bodies. If our bodies’ nutritional requirements are met, junk food cravings will naturally be curbed and we will have the energy we need to maintain a healthy & active lifestyle. Moringa is not a miracle food that will melt your extra pounds away; no one food can do that.

2. Strengthens the Immune System

A study published in the scientific journal Food Chemistry (2007) showed that Moringa leaves contain powerful antioxidants that can supplement and support the body’s own natural immune functions.

3. Helps Combat Common Nutritional Deficiencies

Supplementing a healthy diet with Moringa is like taking a completely natural multi-vitamin that significantly boosts your daily nutritional intake. Moringa has more than 90 bio-nutrients and 46 antioxidants along with all of the essential amino acids.  The nutrients include good amounts of iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc, and Vitamin B complex which helps increase energy, enhance mood, improve memory, and stimulate the immune system.

4. Provides nourishment to the eyes and the brain.

In addition to a balanced diet that includes good amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, taking nutrient-rich supplements like Moringa Oleifera leaf powder can help slow down the advancement of eye diseases like cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Moringa has significant amounts of Vitamin A (beta-carotene), lutein, zeaxanthin – all of which improve eye health and help reduce the risk of macular degeneration. A study done in 2010 showed that flavonoids from Moringa worked very well in preventing and stopping the development
of cataracts in rats.

5. Guards against the Effects of High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol and Diabetes

In India, the Moringa plant has been used for many years in Ayurvedic (traditional) medicine to control high blood pressure and blood glucose levels. It has also been used to combat cardiovascular ailments and obesity-related issues.

A 2006 research study done by the Tokyo University of Agriculture found that Moringa Oleifera leaf powder lowered blood glucose levels in diabetic rats. Researchers believe this may be due to moringa powder’s high content of dietary fiber and polyphenols like quercetin.

6. Helps Reduce Inflammation & Pain caused by Gout and Arthritis

Research has shown that the effects of Moringa Oleifera leaves suppress the COX-2 enzyme which is responsible for inflammation processes and pain. In 2008 the Faculty of Medicine Health Sciences of the Putra University in Malaysia published a researchthat found that the Moringa Oleifera leaves (in aqueous extract) possess high quantities of substances that have anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities.

This study also confirms the traditional uses of Moringa Oleifera in the treatment of ailments, particularly those related to pain and inflammation.

7. Improves Skin Health

Moringa has one of the best profiles of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants among all plants to support healthy skin and hair, including an amazing amount of zeatin, a plant hormone, that can speed up cellular regeneration. A study done in 2014 sug-gested Moringa Leaf enhances skin revitalizing and anti-aging effects. Moringa also has all the vital nutrients for healthy hair growth such as Vitamin A, B vitamins (including Biotin), Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Iron, Zinc, Protein,
Omega 3 fatty acids, etc.

8. Helps Prevent Osteoporosis & Maintain Strong Bones

Besides being an excellent source of Calcium, Moringa Leaf Powder also has other important nutrients such as Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Vitamin D and Vitamin K that are essential for the calcium to be properly absorbed and utilized in the body.

9. Improves Detoxification of the Body and Liver

Some of us, upon taking Moringa, may experience some detoxification sympt-oms such as aches, cramps, headaches, breakouts, fatigue, diarrhea, etc. These sympt-oms are normal and should not last beyond a few hours to a few days of the Moringa consumption.

Other benefits include improving anemic condition (due to moringa’s high iron content) and in the healing of stomach ulcers.

Description:

Meet Mother Nature’s multivitamin – Moringa.  You may be aware of the goodness of popular green superfoods such as spirulina, chlorella, wheatgrass and kale. Moringa is the latest, but definitely not the least, to join them. As much an outstanding nutritional dynamite, the Moringa tree is found in many tropical and subtropical regions, and counts as the most nutritious plant ever discovered on earth. It has been called the "Tree of Life” in many cultures around the world since ancient times, owing to its many uses as a health and medicinal plant.

In India, Moringa is considered ayurvedic (ancient system of healing) medicine that can prevent more than 300 diseases. In Africa, Moringa oleifera is called 'Nebedaye', meaning 'never die' as it helps fight malnutrition and diseases caused by bad water, bad food and environmental toxins which are so rampant in certain African communities.

Various humanitarian and governmental organizations promote Moringa as a superfood to combat malnutrition in developing tropical countries. Moringa is not just an important food source in under-developed or developing countries; it is also a wonderful natural multivitamin for those in developed countries where the modern-day diets are making all of us fatter and sicker than ever before.

Many scientific journals, newspapers articles and books have been written about Moringa oleifera’s goodness as a food plant with multiple medicinal uses. Much research showing the therapeutic properties of Moringa oleifera has also been carried out by reputable institutions such as John Hopkins School of Medicine, the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control, and the National Institutes of Health.

The leaves of the Moringa is an excellent whole-food source of vitamin A, B complex, E, calcium, iron, chlorophyll, various antioxidants and protein including all essential amino acids that are not produced by our body and yet are required for human protein synthesis.

Fresh Moringa leaves contain 70-75% moisture; when these leaves are dried the moisture content goes down to less than 8% and hence the nutrients become much more concentrated. One tablespoon of Moringa leaf powder equals 7 tablespoons of fresh Moringa leaves. That is one reason why people prefer to use Moringa Leaf Powder in their diet.

Just one serving (3 full teaspoons) of Moringa Leaf Powder contains about 50% of your daily Vitamin A requirements.

How to Use:

Moringa leaf powder has a spinach-like taste (typical of greens). It is very versatile, can be consumed any time, and you will find it easy to mix Moringa powder into your everyday foods.

Mix 1 tsp Moringa powder into water, juices, smoothies, cereals, yogurt, salad dressings, sauces, soups, etc.

We do not recommend cooking with Moringa powder as high temperatures can destroy some of its nutrients. For cooked foods, you can add Moringa powder after the dish is cooked and the temperature has cooled a little.

As Moringa powder is more potent than fresh moringa leaves (about 7 kg of fresh Moringa leaves are required to make 1kg of Moringa powder), we recommend starting with just 1 teaspoon.

Recommended daily intake: 2-3 teaspoons. Start with half or 1 teaspoon first (test your body's response to it) and then increase daily.
