They can be machine washed. They are inexpensive. I bought these for my husband and myself. I am a small person, he is very large. He said it was the best nights sleep he's ever had. I have an old neck injury which has left my neck partially fused. I also have an ear that has been damaged. My problem is finding a pillow sturdy enough to support my neck, but soft enough that I can sleep on the damaged ear. I am in total amazement over this pillow! It reminds me of a feather pillow, but there is no noise and no little feathers sticking you. You can push it up and it stays however you want it. I feel like it cradles my neck and for the first time in years I'm waking up without my ear throbbing. We both like them so much that I ordered two more. I have spent so much money searching for the right pillow and now I have found them. After a couple nights of sleeping on this Beautyrest pillow, I can honestly say it's the most comfortable sleep I've had in a long time. These pillows are not too hard, not too soft, just right.
